My Favorites

Here's a few of my favorite old movies. If you've never seen them, you should.

1. Casablanca: The story of a cynical saloon owner who has to help an old flame and her husband escape the Nazis in Morocco during WWII.  Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman- fabulous!!!!!

2. Roman Holiday: A princess runs away from the embassy while on a European tour in Rome. She meets an American journalist and... well I'll let you fill in the rest. Just be sure you have a box of tissues, that last scene is a real tearjerker.

3. Singin' in the Rain: Set in the 1920s, an actor falls for a simple girl, creating conflict with his obnoxious co-star. Amazing dancing and singing (Gene Kelly is a MASTER!!!!!!!!)

4. To Catch a Thief: A string of jewel thefts creeps up on the Riviera. A retired cat burglar and the daughter of a wealthy widow set out to prove his innocence and uncover the real thief. Grace Kelly and Cary Grant- it doesn't get much better.

5. On the Waterfront: A prospective prize fighter risks everything as he goes against corruption and agrees to testify against the mob. Fabulous movie- really stunning piece of work.

Hope this was kind of fun for you to look at and maybe it gave you one more thing on that to-do list.
