I'm reading this delightful book, Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights by Jessica Kerwin Jenkins. I told my roommates about it . . . and they just looked at me like I was crazy. It perfectly details just about everything I love. You should read it. It's precious.
One of its exquisite contents is ENTHUSIASM! It made me happy. In that section, Jessica (Yep, the author and I are on first name terms :) quotes Germaine de Staël saying, "Enthusiasm is the emotion that offers us the greatest happiness, the only one that offers it to us, the only one able to sustain human destiny in whatever situation destiny places us."
Friends, I love this quote. It puts in to words exactly what I feel about enthusiasm, and why I consider myself an enthusiast. I know it's lame to have such a strong opinion about this, but I actually matters to me. So go be enthusiastic; it's fun!
