Christmas Eve with Cecil

His Name Shall Be Called Wonderful, Simon Dewey

In 1926, Cecil B. DeMille was working on production of his piece The King of Kings, a portrayal of the last few weeks of Christ's life.  They filmed the Crucifixion on Christmas Eve.  At the end of the day, DeMille asked everyone to stay for a few moments.  The band played some music, and DeMille asked them to think of Jesus, to think that the things they had depicted that day were real, had happened to an actual person. As the band finished, he wished them all a very merry Christmas, and dismissed them to spend the evening with their families.

This Christmas Eve, I try to do the same. Jesus is real, Christmas is real.  I'm grateful for it.
