Ice Cream and Confidence

So...I've decided my roommate Sidney and I are the coolest people ever :)  We had this great idea for FHE (if you're lost, visit lds.org and look under the family tab at "family home evening").  We had everyone in our group stand in front of our stairwell and we stood on the balcony.  We would drop ice cream and toppings off the balcony and they caught it in their bowls.  It was SO MUCH FUN!!!  The whipped cream was the best.  It kind of floated down and fell apart so it looked like massive snowflakes.  Afterward we hosed down the sidewalk and no one was the wiser!

Every week, my building has a meeting and we talk about lots of different things.  This week's building activity was awesome!  We talked about true beauty and confidence.  It really got me thinking- why do I always put myself down?  What good is that?  I spend all this time bringing myself down and degrading myself, and for what?  One of the girls made a comment that we should be grateful for the things we have and this includes the bodies that God gave us.  This really struck me.  God didn't want me to have a different body; He wanted me to have this one.  So why criticize it?  Our Heavenly Father does not make mistakes- so I am not a mistake.  I resolve to think better of myself and be grateful.

Oh, and here is a video that made me laugh:
