Everything I Read in December 2025

1. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - Reread for the millionth time and kicked off the Christmas season right.

2. Christmas with the Queen by Hazel Gaynor & Heather Webb - This was fine. As an avid royal watcher, some of the parts with the Queen drove me absolutely up the wall, but the love story was sweet and it was very Christmasy. I would recommend their other book, Last Christmas in Paris, before this one.

3. Brightly Shining by Ingvild H. Rishøi - I wanted to read some short fiction so I picked this up. This was just devastating, and in the cold winter months it was not what I needed. The story is about two sisters and their father who is an alcohol in the lead up to Christmas. I found some moments in this book so enraging and it's bothered me for the weeks since. Definitely not the right book for me.

4. The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter - This was such a good time and a much needed pick-me-up after the last one. Part murder mystery, part rom-com about a beloved mystery author who invites an odd group to her estate for Christmas, and then disappears. Loved this and would like to pick up more from this author.

5. Snowed In by Catherine Walsh - I read another Christmas book by this author last year, and I think I preferred that one. Still, I had a good time and it was a good airport book as I flew to visit my family.

Proud of myself for keeping up with all of these posts this year. Excited for more reading adventures in 2026!
