The Oakton library is only about 15 minutes from my house, but I had never been until this past Saturday.
The building looks massive, but the inside felt much smaller. On this particular trip I came with my laptop to do some writing for a project I'm working on, and I was a little disappointed at how little seating there was outside of the quiet room, which was too dark for me on this beautiful sunny day. It wasn't a big deal, and I was there early enough in the day that I snagged a chair by the windows without too much trouble.
That being said, this library was not quiet. I understand why their quiet room was so full, because there were people talking loudly & children who were restless and noisy. I put on my headphones and had no issues, but I could see it being an annoyance for some people.
The book selection was decent, but not especially expansive. Maybe that's just in comparison to the regional library I went to last time though, which wouldn't be fair. Still, I was able to wander through the stacks pretty quickly.
The parking situation was great - lots of space and very clean.
The bathrooms were a let down if I'm honest, but I could manage.
I feel bad ranking it lower than the others, but I must be honest. 8/10
